Springfield Armory M1 Garand .30-06 Rifle – WWII Production
Description
This Springfield Armory M1 Garand is a fine example of an authentic WWII U.S. service rifle. The receiver, serial number 165682, places its original manufacture in January 1941, during the early pre-war production period. At some point during the war, it was arsenal-upgraded with a Springfield Armory “SA 6-44” barrel, dated June 1944, which remains installed today. This combination of early receiver and mid-war barrel is exactly what would have been carried into service after an arsenal rebuild, making it historically correct for WWII usage.
The stock shows the classic circled P proof mark
behind the trigger guard and an additional boxed cartouche
on the left side, consistent with inspection and reissue. The rifle retains its original parkerized finish with honest service wear. A small crack in the stock near the receiver is present but does not detract from its authenticity.

This rifle represents a wartime arsenal-correct rebuild, combining a pre-war receiver with a mid-war replacement barrel. These rifles were relied upon heavily during WWII, and arsenal rebarreling was a standard practice to keep them in frontline service.
