Overview

The Browning Hi-Power represents one of the final factory developments of the legendary P-35 platform originally designed by John Moses Browning and completed by Dieudonné Saive at FN Herstal. Chambered in .40 S&W, this later-production variant incorporates factory strengthening revisions made specifically to accommodate the higher-pressure cartridge compared to earlier 9mm Hi-Power pistols.

This example bears the desirable “Made in Belgium – Assembled in Portugal” markings typical of later Mk III production and features factory adjustable rear sights, checkered walnut grips, and includes the original Browning hard case with owner manual and other factory pamphlets.

Overall condition is great, with minimal signs of use and some slight slide wear on the right side. The front strap near the serial number shows some slight peppering and there is a light mark on the barrel hood (only visible from the ejection port). Mechanically, the pistol remains strong and presents as a solid example of a late-production factory .40-caliber Hi-Power and has had a trigger job performed at some point. Original spring is included in the box.

The .40 S&W Hi-Power differs from earlier 9mm variants through several factory updates implemented by FN, including:
