Colt M1911 A1 .45ACP U.S. Army Service Pistol
Colt M1911 A1 .45ACP U.S. Army Service Pistol
This is a recently acquired Colt M1911 A1 rearsenal chambered in .45ACP. According to Colt records, the frame dates back to 1919, making it a late World War I 1911. It's true history is unknown, but during World War II, many 1911 pistols from the World War I era were re-arsenaled and put back into service due to the high demand for sidearms. This one happened to get a M1911 A1 slide but kept the original frame. The M1911A1 remained the standard-issue sidearm for the U.S. military throughout World War II, and older pistols were often refurbished and issued to troops as needed. This one features a worn "black army" finish, 5"-barrel, fixed sights, diamond checkered wood grips, a two-tone magazine and comes with a US holster stamped SEARS 1942, indicating production by Sears, Roebuck and Co. Overall, this re-arsenaled Colt M1911A1 U.S. Army Pistol represents a piece of American military history and will make a great addition to any collection. Please see specifications below and all pictures for accurate depiction of this piece.
