Fox Sterlingworth 12 Gauge Side-by-Side Shotgun
Fox Sterlingworth 12 Gauge Side-by-Side Shotgun
30" Barrels | Double Trigger | Extractors | Made by A.H. Fox Gun Co. | Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Overview
Offered here is a classic A.H. Fox Sterlingworth side-by-side shotgun chambered in 12 gauge and fitted with desirable 30-inch barrels. Manufactured by the famed A.H. Fox Gun Company of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the Sterlingworth earned a reputation as one of America's finest field-grade double guns and remains highly sought after by collectors, upland hunters, and enthusiasts of classic American sporting arms.
Introduced in 1910, the Sterlingworth was designed to offer the strength, handling characteristics, and craftsmanship of Fox's higher-grade doubles at a more affordable price point. Despite being considered a "field grade" gun, Sterlingworth shotguns were built on the same rugged action design that made A.H. Fox famous. Many collectors consider them among the strongest and best-balanced American side-by-side shotguns ever produced.
This example features the original double-trigger configuration, automatic safety, extractors, and attractive walnut stock and forend. The shotgun remains in very honest vintage condition, showing the character expected of a century-old sporting arm while retaining strong collector appeal.
