Golden State Arms “1941 Supreme” – .303 British – Santa Fe Division

Description:
This is a commercial Golden State Arms “1941 Supreme” sporter in .303 British, produced by the Santa Fe Division of Golden State Arms Corporation(Pasadena, CA). The barrel is factory roll-marked “PRODUCED BY THE SANTA FE DIVISION OF GOLDEN STATE ARMS CORPORATION 1941 SUPREME.” The model was built from surplus Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk I actions and sold by Santa Fe as a refined hunting rifle during the 1950s–60s, part of a broader line of Santa Fe Enfield sporters.

This example has a 22" barrel, retains the traditional Enfield box magazine and bolt action, and has been drilled & tapped for a side-mount scope(a common feature on Santa Fe sporters; many used Williams-pattern side mounts). A leather sling is included.
Please see specifications below and all pictures for accurate depiction of this firearm.

Features:

  • Maker/Brand: Santa Fe Division, Golden State Arms Corp.(Pasadena, CA)
  • Model: “1941 Supreme”(commercial sporterized Enfield)
  • Action/Base: Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk I bolt action (Santa Fe conversion)
  • Caliber: .303 British
  • Serial Number: 454534
  • Barrel: 22", sporter profile (Santa Fe “1941 Supreme” spec)
  • Sights/Optics: Drilled & tapped for side-mount scope(Williams-type side mounts commonly seen on this model)
  • Stock/Trim: Sporter stock with sling swivels; leather sling included
  • Marking: Barrel roll-marked “PRODUCED BY THE SANTA FE DIVISION OF GOLDEN STATE ARMS CORPORATION 1941 SUPREME.”

Condition:
Good overall for a vintage Santa Fe sporter. Metal shows handling/field wear appropriate to age; wood presents typical use marks. Action cycles properly; magazine present.

Collector’s / Shooter’s Note:
Golden State Arms/Santa Fe imported and remanufactured surplus Enfields into sporting rifles under house names like “1941 Supreme” and “Mountaineer.” They advertised multiple models at different price points, most based on the No.4 platform, often with 22″ barrels and side-scope provisions. These rifles are part of the post-war American sporter history and remain practical .303 hunters with a neat California-custom backstory.
