Heckler & Koch P7 M8 9mm Pistol – West German Made “Squeeze-Cocker”
Heckler & Koch P7 M8 9mm Pistol – West German Made “Squeeze-Cocker”
This Heckler & Koch P7 M8, chambered in 9×19mm, is a classic West German–manufactured example featuring the unique grip-mounted squeeze cocking system and a reliable gas-delayed blowback action. Serial number 125039, with a barrel marked “96/07”, suggests a July 1996 proof date, placing this in the latter part of production (which spanned from 1983–2008).
The Heckler & Koch P7 remains one of the most sought-after and highly regarded pistols on the market today. Once hailed as “the best combat pistol” of its time, the P7 has seen its value steadily rise following its discontinuation in 2008. Despite no longer being in production, it continues to see service with select law enforcement and military units worldwide. In the United States, agencies such as the New Jersey State Police, Utah State Police, and the United States Park Police have continued to utilize the P7 for its reliability and unique design.
This pistol is in excellent condition, showing minimal handling wear with a handsome plum patina on the slide. It comes complete in its original factory black box, including three magazines, factory cleaning tool, and instruction manual.

Historical Significance:
The P7 was developed in response to demands for a compact, safe, and precise service pistol following the 1972 Munich Olympics Massacre. Production ran from 1976–2008, with the M8 variant adding enhanced ergonomics and controls. After production ended in 2007, a final batch of 500 “Jubilee” models was released. Its innovative design and build quality have made it a favorite among collectors and users alike.
Several other variants were built based on the P7: the P7PT8, P7M13, P7K3, P7M10, P7M8 and the P7M7, none of which remain in production.
