Lettered 3 Digit Smith & Wesson Triple Lock Target .44 Hand Ejector .44 Special
This is an early model, Lettered Smith & Wesson .44 Hand Ejector also known as the "Triple Lock". It features a 6 1/2" pinned barrel, blue finish, color cased hammer and trigger, Patridge pinned front sight, adjustable rear target sight, and diamond checkered walnut grips with diamonds around the escutcheons. This model was manufactured from 1908 to 1915 and sold out in 1917. Total production was 15,376 revolvers in 4 different calibers and 5 different barrel lengths. Smith & Wesson records indicate that this one was shipped from the factory on March 5, 1909, and delivered to Iver Johnson Sporting Goods co., Boston, MA.
