This is a recently acquired Pre-1898 Winchester Model 1885 chambered in 32 rimfire with a 24" octagon barrel, dovetail front sight and buckhorn ladder rear sight. It appears to be all original and is in good shape for its 1891 manufacture date. It shows normal signs of wear and patina with scattered handling marks. The Model 1885 is a classic single-shot firearm with a lever-action falling block mechanism designed by John Moses Browning in 1878. It's considered one of his greatest designs.
