It features the correct 14-groove flat-bottom forend
and a smooth walnut butt stock

Collector’s / Shooter’s Note: The Model 42
has often been called “Everybody’s Sweetheart.” Designed from the ground up for the .410, it shares the sleek styling of the Model 12 but on a smaller frame. Produced from 1933 to 1963, only about 160,000 were made. Later-production examples like this 1959 model with a 28″ Full choke barrel
are less frequently seen, especially in such clean condition with their original furniture. A fine addition to any Winchester collection or a classic upland/target .410 that’s as shootable as it is collectible.
