Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Featherweight .270 Win 22" Bolt Action Rifle
Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Featherweight .270 Win 22"
1955 Manufacture | Pre-64 Controlled-Round Feed | Skinner Peep Sight | Original Front Sight Hood | Limbsaver Recoil Pad
OVERVIEW
Offered here is a 1955 Winchester Model 70 Featherweight chambered in .270 Winchester, featuring a 22-inch barrel, blued steel construction, checkered walnut stock, and practical upgrades.
Introduced in 1952, the Model 70 Featherweight offered the legendary Winchester bolt-action platform in a lighter, more streamlined sporting configuration. Built during Winchester's highly regarded pre-1964 production period, these rifles feature the desirable controlled-round-feed action with its distinctive claw extractor.
This example retains the traditional Featherweight profile, including its slender barrel, checkered walnut stock, and classic bolt-action styling. It has been fitted with an upgraded Skinner receiver-mounted peep sight and a Limbsaver recoil pad, while retaining its original-style hooded front sight.
With its mid-1950s manufacture, classic .270 Winchester chambering, and tasteful functional upgrades, this Featherweight offers an appealing combination of vintage Winchester craftsmanship and practical sporting features.
