This is a recently acquired Smith & Wesson Chiefs Special chambered in .38 S&W Special with a blue finish and a pinned 2"-barrel, serrated ramp front sight, square notch rear and color cased hammer and trigger. It wears a set of diamond checkered wood grips with diamonds around the escutcheons and an added Tyler T grip adapter. The Chief’s Special was introduced by Smith & Wesson in 1950 and became known as the Model 36 later on. The flat latch design was used from 1950 until late 1966 to keep the revolver as flat as possible for carry purposes. This revolver is a sought-after piece for its historical significance and classic features. The flat latch design is indicative of the early production models, making it a valuable find for collectors. Overall, this revolver is in good condition with signs of use and being carried often.
