The Smith & Wesson K-22 Combat Masterpiece is one of the most respected rimfire revolvers ever produced. Introduced in 1949, it was designed as a training and practice revolver that mirrored the handling characteristics of service revolvers used by law enforcement. Built on the Smith & Wesson K-frame and chambered in .22 Long Rifle, the Combat Masterpiece quickly became known for its excellent balance, accuracy, and smooth action.

This revolver, serial number K170331, was manufactured circa 1952, placing it in the desirable pre-model number era before Smith & Wesson began assigning model designations in 1957. When model numbers were introduced, the K-22 Combat Masterpiece became known as the Model 18.

This example features a 4-inch pinned barrel, Baughman ramp front sight, adjustable rear sight, and recessed cylinder chambers. It retains a blued finish with color case hardened hammer and trigger, along with checkered Magna grips with Smith & Wesson medallions.
