This is a Pre-Lock Smith & Wesson Model 686 "No-Dash" revolver, a highly sought-after first-generation example of the L-frame series, manufactured prior to the introduction of the internal lock and MIM (metal injection molded) parts. Built on the robust stainless L-frame, it’s chambered in .357 Magnum and also accepts .38 Special, making it a versatile and collectible sidearm. This revolver features a 6-inch full underlug barrel, a red ramp front sight, and an adjustable square-notch rear sight set into a serrated, anti-glare top strap for a crisp sight picture. The stainless-steel finish remains bright with only minor handling marks and light signs of use consistent with careful ownership.
