This is a recently acquired Smith & Wesson Non-Registered Magnum chambered for .357 Magnum Caliber. It features a 4"-barrel, blue finish, Humpback hammer, Baughman ramp on King base front sight and adjustable rear sight. It's finished off with diamond checkered Magna grips with S&W medallions. This revolver was part of a shipment that went to the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department after Lear B. Read was appointed as chief. He was assigned to "cleaning up" the department and the city. These revolvers are highly sought after by collectors due to their historical significance and the fact that they were specifically shipped to a law enforcement agency. This is a piece of history that represents the era’s law enforcement standards and Smith & Wesson’s commitment to providing quality service firearms. It's in overall well used condition with normal signs of use and holstering. It will make a fantastic addition to your collection. 1st shipment December 1936, Five 5 inch and One 6 inch. This was before L.B. Reed was appointed chief.

After Reed was appointed chief:

September 1939 - Two Hundred Fifty 4 inch.

January 1940 - Two Hundred 4 inch.

July 1940- Thirty-Five 4 inch, Two 3 1/2 inch and One 6 1/2 inch.
