Rare Late-War P38 Mauser 9mm Luger Pistol with Holster
Late-War P38 Mauser 9mm Luger Pistol with Holster
This is a Mauser Oberndorf–manufactured P38, clearly identified by its SVW/45 marking and low serial number “2824 n”, signifying late‑war production in 1945 under German control. Matching 2824 n stamps appear across the slide, frame, and barrel bushing. The magazine is stamped "jvd" and P38. There were only 15,000 SVW 45's produced out of 346,000 total Mauser P38's produced during the war, making this a fairly rare find.
Post-war, the pistol was proofed under French arsenal authority, as indicated by the five-pointed star stamp on the slide. It later received a U.S. import stamp (“MADE IN GERMANY INTERARMS ALEX VA. 9MM P.”), common among surplus German handguns imported to America in the 1960s–’80s.
The rear sight sports the functional “4” code consistent with wartime batch marking. A single star on the slide further corroborates French finishing rather than reproduction.
It includes a modern reproduction leather holster, crafted from black leather with white stitching and a built-in magazine pouch. This holster replicates WWII-style holsters and markings but lacks authentic wartime wear.
