Ruger 77/22 .22 Hornet 20" Bolt Action – Redfield 3–9x Scope
Ruger 77/22 .22 Hornet 20" Bolt Action – Redfield 3–9x Scope
Discontinued Model | 20" Barrel | Checkered Walnut Stock | Redfield 3–9x Scope
OVERVIEW
Offered here is a recently acquired Ruger 77/22 chambered in .22 Hornet, featuring a 20-inch barrel, beautifully finished checkered walnut stock, mounted Redfield 3–9x scope, and Ruger's classic bolt-action design.
Introduced in the mid-1980s, the Ruger 77/22 series brought the styling and handling characteristics of Ruger's larger Model 77 centerfire rifles to a compact sporting platform. The .22 Hornet version, introduced in 1994, offered a centerfire chambering particularly well suited to small-game hunting, varmint shooting, and recreational target work.
This example, dating to approximately 2011 based on Ruger's published serial-number records, features a blued steel barrel, receiver-mounted scope rings, attractive checkered walnut furniture, and Ruger's distinctive rotary magazine system.
The rifle is fitted with a Redfield 3–9x variable-power scope, providing a traditional sporting configuration that complements the rifle's classic lines. The scope features a matte black finish, adjustable magnification, and a conventional hunting-style profile.
The walnut stock displays warm coloration, attractive natural grain, and sharply defined checkering along the pistol grip and forearm. A black recoil pad completes the traditional sporting appearance.
Now discontinued, the Ruger 77/22 Hornet remains an appealing rifle among collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate its compact bolt-action design, classic American styling, and distinctive centerfire chambering.
This particular example is in great overall condition, displaying minimal scattered handling wear and an attractive plum-colored patina developing on the receiver.
