OVERVIEW

Offered here is a near new Ruger New Model Blackhawk “Buckeye Special” Convertible, serial number 611-03960, chambered for both .38-40 Winchester and 10mm Auto by means of interchangeable cylinders.

These revolvers were produced as a special distributor run for Buckeye Sports Supply and are among the more distinctive limited-production New Model Blackhawks. Contemporary and collector sources consistently identify the Buckeye .38-40/10mm configuration as a 6.5-inch, blued-steel convertible built on Ruger’s large New Model Blackhawk frame, with an auxiliary 10mm cylinder included.

This example retains the identifying Buckeye leaf rollmark on the top strap, visible in the photographs, along with both cylinders and yellow Factory Ruger box etc. The Buckeye-marked guns are especially recognizable for that distributor-specific top-strap marking.

CONDITION

This revolver remains in excellent overall condition, showing only minimal signs of handling or use.

The blued finish presents very well, the wood grips are smooth with nice grain, and the Buckeye top-strap marking is clearly visible. Both the .38-40 Winchester and 10mm Auto cylinders are included.

The Ruger yellow box and packaging shown in the photographs are also included.
