Those requests eventually became reality with this Lipsey’s Exclusive, introduced in 2026 as a true collector-oriented pairing of an iconic American single-shot rifle with the cartridge made famous by the Winchester Model 71.

Built on Bill Ruger’s exceptionally strong and compact falling-block action, the No. 1 offers the elegance of a traditional sporting rifle with the mechanical simplicity and strength of a single-shot design. The compact receiver allows this rifle to carry a full 23-inch barrel while maintaining excellent balance and a remarkably trim overall profile.

This particular rifle is especially noteworthy for its beautiful high-grade walnut, often referred to by Ruger collectors as “Employee Wood.” It exhibits exceptional figure and character well beyond ordinary production-grade walnut, giving a unique presentation worthy of a limited Lipsey’s Exclusive.
