Ruger Old Model Super Single-Six Convertible .22 LR / .22 WMR – 5½" – 1972
Ruger Old Model Super Single-Six Convertible .22 LR / .22 WMR – 5½" – 1972
Original Three-Screw | Unconverted Action | Blued Finish | Walnut Grips | Original Box & Extra Cylinder | Serial No. 61-10516
OVERVIEW
Offered here is an exceptional Ruger Old Model Super Single-Six Convertible, chambered in .22 Long Rifle and .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire, featuring a 5½" barrel, traditional blued finish, smooth walnut grips, and the desirable original three-screw action.
Manufactured in 1972, this revolver represents Ruger's classic Old Model Single-Six design, produced before the introduction of the New Model transfer-bar safety system in 1973. These early revolvers have become increasingly appealing to collectors, particularly examples retaining their original, unconverted lockwork.
This example, serial number 61-10516, remains in its original unconverted configuration, retaining the traditional three-screw action. The revolver presents in excellent overall condition, with strong bluing, attractive walnut grips, and minimal visible signs of previous handling and slight holster wear on the barrel tip and ejector rod housing.
Adding considerably to its appeal is the accompanying original Ruger red-and-black factory box, along with the additional .22 WMR cylinder, factory instruction booklet, and red protective cylinder pouch.
A beautiful example of Ruger's early convertible rimfire revolvers, offering the desirable combination of original configuration, excellent condition, and period factory accessories.

COLLECTOR NOTES
The Ruger Single-Six was introduced in 1953 and quickly established itself as one of America's most popular rimfire single-action revolvers. The later Super Single-Six offered adjustable sights, while convertible configurations provided the versatility of interchangeable .22 LR and .22 WMR cylinders.
In 1973, Ruger introduced the New Model Single-Six with a transfer-bar safety system. Many earlier Old Model revolvers were subsequently returned to Ruger for safety conversions, making examples retaining their original unconverted lockwork particularly appealing to collectors seeking the traditional factory configuration.
This 1972-production Super Single-Six represents the final era of the original three-screw design.
Its excellent condition, original action configuration, matching-era factory packaging, and included extra cylinder make it a particularly attractive example for Ruger enthusiasts and collectors of vintage American single-action revolvers.
