Ruger Speed-Six .357 Magnum – 2¾" Barrel

Ruger Speed-Six .357 Magnum – 2¾" Barrel

Blued Finish | Checkered Wood Grips | 1984 Manufacture Date | Serial No. 160-29266

OVERVIEW

Offered here is a Ruger Speed-Six chambered in .357 Magnum, featuring the desirable 2¾" barrel, traditional blued finish, notched rear sight, green fiber optic front, and checkered wood grips with Ruger medallions.

Introduced in the early 1970s, the Speed-Six was part of Ruger's popular Security-Six family of double-action revolvers. Designed as a rugged, compact alternative to larger service revolvers, the Speed-Six offered the strength of a solid-frame design in a practical, easy-handling configuration.

This example, serial number 160-29266, dates to approximately 1984 and features the classic short-barrel configuration with a blued finish and attractive wood grips. The revolver presents very nicely overall, with the majority of its visible wear concentrated around the grip frame. I can't help but to envision the original owner keeping it holstered but placing their hand on it often.

The Speed-Six has developed a loyal following among Ruger enthusiasts for its durability, straightforward design, and traditional styling. With production ending in 1988, these discontinued revolvers remain appealing to collectors and shooters who appreciate Ruger's earlier double-action designs.

A handsome vintage Ruger with honest character and the desirable 2¾" barrel configuration.
