The Savage Model 99 remains one of the most distinctive American sporting rifles of the early 20th century. Designed around a hammerless lever-action system and Savage’s innovative rotary magazine, the Model 99 allowed the use of pointed bullets while maintaining the balance and handling qualities hunters expected from a traditional lever rifle.

This example is the lighter 99F takedown configuration, combining a straight-grip walnut stock with a slim 22-inch barrel and detachable barrel/forearm assembly. CONDITION

This rifle remains in good overall vintage condition with honest wear consistent with age and field use.

The metal has developed an attractive aged blue and gray patina, while the walnut stock and forearm retain a pleasing appearance with scattered handling marks and finish wear. The buttstock shows a small chip at the toe, as pictured.

The Marble’s tang sight remains installed and adds period character and practical utility to the rifle.
