J-Frame Boot Grips with Finger Grooves

This is a set of hand-crafted, hand selected, High Grade Bastogne Walnut grips made in-house for a New Production Smith & Wesson J Frame Round Butt. Please note: the pictures provided are of the actual set you will receive. All sets are unique as there are no two sets the same.

  • Bastogne walnut( Juglans x paradox ) is a natural hybrid between English (Persian) walnut( Juglans regia ) and Claro walnut( Juglans hindsii ).
  • The hybrid originated in California and is sometimes called “Paradox walnut.”
  • Density & Hardness: Bastogne is harder and denser than either parent species. This makes it stronger, less prone to dents, and well-suited for precision inletting on firearms.
  • Color & Figure: It often displays rich chocolate browns, golds, and deep blacks, with dramatic figure and contrast. The grain can range from straight to highly figured (fiddleback, feather, marblecake).
  • Weight: It is slightly heavier than English or Claro walnut, but still balances well.
  • Collector’s Note:

Bastogne walnut trees are rare —they produce very few nuts and are not widely cultivated. That scarcity, combined with their striking figure and durability, makes Bastogne one of the most sought-after and expensive walnut species for custom grips.
