Introduced in 1973 to commemorate 150 years of the Texas Rangers, this historically significant edition marked Smith & Wesson's first commemorative revolver. Production was limited to 10,000 examples, with approximately 8,000 offered as revolver-and-knife presentation sets.

Built on the renowned K-frame Combat Magnum platform, this special edition features a 4-inch barrel, polished blue finish, smooth Goncalo Alves target grips with Texas Ranger medallions, and distinctive gold-filled commemorative markings. The frame displays the Texas Ranger Commemorative Commission seal, while the barrel bears special anniversary inscriptions.

Its accompanying matching-numbered Bowie knife features a polished fixed blade, brass guard and pommel, richly figured wooden handle, and Texas Ranger commemorative medallion.
