Offered here is a beautiful Smith & Wesson Performance Center Model 945-1 chambered in .45 ACP, featuring the full-size 5" configuration and remaining in near-new, excellent condition.

The Model 945 represents an interesting chapter in Smith & Wesson Performance Center history. Although its appearance and operating system clearly draw from the classic 1911, the 945 was Smith & Wesson's own high-end interpretation rather than simply a conventional production 1911. These pistols were Performance Center offerings built with an emphasis on precision fitting, accuracy, and premium finishing, and clean examples have become increasingly sought after by Smith & Wesson collectors.

This example features the distinctive stainless construction, Performance Center slide treatment, checkered wood stocks, skeletonized trigger, extended beavertail, ambidextrous thumb safety, and adjustable rear sight associated with the full-size 945.

The pistol presents exceptionally well and is accompanied by considerable factory paperwork and accessories. It is housed in a blue Smith & Wesson factory case; however, this is not its original Performance Center presentation case, and we want to make that distinction clear for collectors.

CONDITION

This Performance Center 945-1 remains in near-new, excellent condition, showing very little evidence of use or handling.

The stainless surfaces, controls, wood stocks, and distinctive Performance Center detailing all present exceptionally well. Based upon its overall appearance, this is a particularly clean example of a discontinued Performance Center pistol.

COLLECTOR NOTES

The Model 945 has developed a strong following among collectors of earlier Smith & Wesson Performance Center pistols. The full-size 5" examples combine the familiar ergonomics and operating principles of the 1911 with a distinctly Smith & Wesson design and the hand-fitted character associated with Performance Center production of the period.

Condition matters considerably on these, and this example's near-new presentation and accompanying paperwork are significant positives.

The one collector consideration worth noting is the case: while the pistol is currently housed in a Factory Smith & Wesson blue case, the original Performance Center presentation case is not included. We have accounted for that distinction rather than representing this as a completely original boxed package.
