U.S. Springfield Model of 1922 M1 .22 LR Bolt Action Training Rifle with Scope

This is a recently acquired 4-digit serial, U.S. Springfield Model 1922M1 chambered in .22LR. The Model 1922 was created as a training and competition version of the 1903 Springfield 30-06 combat rifle. During the post WWII era, many of these rifles were sold off or donated to military schools and shooting clubs all over the United States making survival in prime original condition very limited. This example has a 22" blued unmarked barrel and was upgraded with a Bishop checkered walnut stock with sling studs. The top of the receiver is marked 'U.S. SPRINGFIELD ARMORY MODEL OF 1922 MI. CAL. .22 4194'. It comes with Weaver scope rings and a Weaver K6 60-B Scope. It shows normal wear with a few areas of peppering.
