OVERVIEW

Offered here is an attractive Winchester Model 101 Pigeon Grade Trap over-and-under shotgun, serial number PK303255, chambered in 12 gauge.

The Winchester Model 101 was introduced in 1963 as a finely made over-and-under intended to compete with established European sporting shotguns. The higher-grade Pigeon models added upgraded wood, more elaborate metal finishing, and decorative engraving to the Model 101’s proven competition design.

This Japanese-made example features 32-inch blued barrels, a wide ventilated competition rib, 2¾-inch chambers, and fixed Full/Full chokes. The silver-finished steel receiver is embellished with extensive scroll engraving, border work, a flying-pigeon motif, and the Winchester name set into the underside.

The shotgun is completed with richly finished walnut furniture featuring wraparound checkering, pistol-grip stock, and ventilated recoil pad. Its long barrels, elevated sighting plane, and trap-oriented configuration give it the deliberate swing and presentation sought by clay-target shooters.

CONDITION

This shotgun remains in great overall collector condition.

The blued barrels retain an attractive finish with scattered handling and use marks. The silver-finished receiver and small parts show light surface wear and age-related toning, while the engraving remains crisp and well defined. The walnut stock and forearm retain a rich gloss finish with scattered handling marks and minor finish wear consistent with careful field or range use.
