Offered here is a Winchester Model 1886 Extra Light Grade I lever-action rifle chambered in .45-70 Government, serial number 00ESLR3309, presented in near -new condition with its original factory box.

This rifle was purchased new in 2005 and has been exceptionally well preserved since that time. It is one of Winchester’s desirable modern-production reproductions of the classic John M. Browning-designed Model 1886, manufactured in Japan by Miroku for Winchester.

The Extra Light configuration was designed to retain the strength and traditional character of the Model 1886 while reducing weight through its 22" tapered round barrel and half-length magazine tube, giving the rifle a particularly trim and well-balanced profile.

This example is currently fitted with a Williams receiver sight, providing a crisp, highly usable sight picture. Importantly, the original factory rear sight is also included, allowing the rifle to be returned to its original configuration if desired.

Winchester period literature identifies this Grade I Extra Light variation as a limited-production model, with 3,500 Grade I rifles produced, making it an especially attractive configuration for the Winchester or modern lever-action collector.

This rifle was purchased new in 2005 and has remained exceptionally well preserved. It presents in near -new overall condition, with the metal finish and walnut stock remaining extremely clean and showing only the most minimal signs of careful handling or storage.

The rifle is currently fitted with a Williams receiver sight, and the original factory rear sight is included with the rifle.

The original Winchester factory box is also included and shows normal exterior storage wear consistent with age.
